Kingdom Covenant LIFE 2017
The Covenant of Righteousness
“Abraham
believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” Romans 4:3
We are vessels of righteousness through our covenant relationship with Jesus our Lord. Romams 10:10amp. says “For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.” The blessing of being made righteous is the greatest and most significant benefit of being a covenant believer. Being made righteous changes your status, your position in life, your rights are expanded, your benefits are out of this world and most of all your relationship with the Father is in proper alignment and right standing as children of God. There is no one that can make you righteous, change, impact your life, improve and bless your life but your heavenly Father. Everything about you will be changed, improved and will prosper as you cultivate your covenant relationship with Jesus and His Father. We must give this spiritual covenant relationship our utmost attention, priority and faithfulness in every way
In Romans 4:3 the scripture says
that “For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed in (trusted, relied on) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness (right living, right
standing with God).” This is such a big deal for us to understand that
believing God, trusting in, relying on and placing total confidence in Him will
result in God honoring that as righteousness. Belief is probably the most
difficult and most challenging area that the enemy attacks us in. Remember
Lucifer once had a very close covenant relationship with God before he rebelled
against Him. So understand that when we place our complete faith and confidence
in the Son of God; then the Father will reveal the righteous of His Son in us
as covenant believers. We that believe in Christ are now credited, given and
inherited with His righteousness.
Think about this for a moment what
this really means. If you were the worst of the worst person because you had a
past loaded with lying, deception, stealing, sexual immorality, unforgiveness,
etc. Then you surrender your life to Jesus to be in covenant with Christ. At
that very moment that you believe in Him you become a righteous believer of God
in Christ. II 5:21 says 21” God made this sinless man be a sin offering on our behalf, so that in
union with Him we might fully share in God’s righteousness.”
Abraham is the first one that God acknowledges as righteous, but before He did Abraham gave honor to God through communion and giving of his tithes. In Genesis 14:18-24 the scripture says “Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, also went to meet Abram. He brought bread and wine. 19 He blessed Abram and said, Abram, may you be blessed by God Most High, the one who made heaven and earth. 20 And we praise God Most High, who helped you defeat your enemies. Abram gave Melchizedek one-tenth of everything he had taken during the battle. 21 Then the king of Sodom told Abram, “Give me my people who were captured. But you can keep everything else. 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I promise to the Lord, the God Most High, the one who made heaven and earth. 23 I promise that I will not keep anything that is yours—not even a thread or a sandal strap! I don’t want you to say, ‘I made Abram rich.’ 24 The only thing I will accept is the food that my young men have eaten, but you should give the other men their share. Take what we won in battle and give some to Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. These men helped me in the battle.”
We
are righteous covenant believers through the righteousness of Jesus our Lord.
Our righteous is in the inner man or the hidden man of the heart. In Gen. 15:1
Abraham was declared righteous because of His trust, confidence and faith in
God and his obedience to Him. The scripture says “After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am
your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
